Mission
The mission of the MS House, Inc., is to develop and operate a residential facility and programs for persons wtih multiple sclerosis (MS). The facility is envisioned to provide care that fulfills the needs of persons with various stages and challenges of MS, including the need for 24-hour care.
Our Goal
We are working to build a state-of-the-art facility that is designed to meet the needs of MS patients. Handicapped-accessible rooms, 24-hour care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, a pool for therapeutic use, transportation services, on-site neurological support, all with the primary focus to help MS patients and their families.
Why An MS House?
Currently, in Maryland, exclusive care facilities are not available to persons with MS. Many people with MS are capable of maintaining a productive lifestyle, but the complications cause by this chronic desease may make it impossible for the person to live independently. THe only available alternatives, at present, are nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
Because of the younger age, undeminished mental capacity and length of stay for people with MS, typical nursing facilityes are unsuitable options tha tstrip them of their remaining dignity, mental stimulation and ability to contribute to the world. MS House, Inc., is envisioned to offer a viable living alternative.
